MULTIDISCIPLINARY APPROACH TO MEDICATION-RELATED OSTEONECROSIS OF THE JAW: REPORT OF A CASE

Nowadays the multidisciplinary team (MDT) plays a critical role in treatment of patients with osteonecrosis oral cavity, particular for reconstructive-rehabilitation phase complex cases. Among objectives MDT we find improvement quality life patients, restoration anatomical defect following surgery, as well planning an aesthetic-functional rehabilitation. The experience composed professionals belonging to Medicine and Oral Pathology Outpatient Clinic Maggiore Hospital Trieste Department Otolaryngology S. Maria degli Angeli Pordenone is presented relation surgical-prosthetic rehabilitation patient drug-induced osteonecrosis. The patient, suffering from right maxillary induced by therapy Zoledronic Acid, underwent demolitive surgical intervention maxillectomy. At same time, reconstruction was carried out using microvascularized fibula flap insertion 5 implants. Subsequently, rehabilitated fixed prosthesis on implants. The treated allowed resumption functional activities such chewing phonation, guaranteeing good life.
